A new regulation, OIC 671-23, effective December 6, 2023, requires strata corporations with five or more strata lots to obtain an electrical planning report by specific deadlines:
By December 31, 2026: For strata corporations in the Metro Vancouver Regional District, Fraser Valley Regional District, and Capital Regional District (excluding the Gulf Islands).
By December 31, 2028: For strata corporations in other areas of British Columbia.
New strata corporations have five years from the deposit of the strata plan to comply.
